Green Growth brand Marine Phytoplankton (also know as “Phyto 4 Life”) is sold in powder or capsule form.

#1-The first reason why we consider Green Growth Phyto 4 Life plankton to be a scam is because their Marine Phytoplankton is “Synthetic”. Our lab test shows a salt/mineral substance on their plankton that does not match REAL ocean water! This is common for inland algae growing facilities to just add salt and some fertilizers to regular tap water so they can classify their water as “Marine” base, thereby enabling them to grow a “Marine” product like “Marine” Phytoplankton. But the truth of the matter is, their product quality and RESULTS are a far cry from Phytoplankton that is grown in REAL purified ocean water.

#2-The second reason why we consider Green Growth Phyto 4 Life plankton to be a scam is because our lab results came back with 80% single strain phytoplankton and 20% foreign matter. This tells us that their growing facility is not sterile before growing their next product, and other things besides phytoplankton are still living in their growing tanks. Keep in mind that there are thousands of types of algae and most can not be detected by the naked eye. They are also VERY competitive for growing space available and depending on light, temperature and their surroundings, algae will multiply at an extremely rapid rate to “outgrow” each other. Just take a look at a swimming pool left unattended. It will turn completely green in just a week or two with all kinds of microscopic plant form. This is why it is so extremely important to sterilize every aspect of the growing facility before growing Marine Phytoplankton to avoid this from happening.

#3-The third reason why we consider Green Growth Phyto 4 Life to be a scam is because of the high inorganic salt/mineral substance left on their product. This tells us one of two things. 1) They either have very poor centrifuge equipment which is the process of spinning off the excess water off the phytoplankton, a lot like the spinning cycle on a washer machine, but hundreds a times faster. Or 2, they are spray drying their phytoplankton which is the process of spraying “wet” phytoplankton through a high pressured sprayer into a 400 degree air tank to dry their phytoplankton. This is a much cheaper way to dry Marine Phytoplankton and of course will harm the quality since high temperatures are harmful to the preserving of nutrients in any plant form. Which ever is the cause, one thing is certain, high inorganic salt/mineral substance is present on their phytoplankton.

Here are 2 simple tests you can do at home to see if your Marine Phytoplankton has a high inorganic salt/mineral substance. 1) Simply taste your phytoplankton by putting 200-300mg on your tongue. There is one thing about “salt” you can’t hide, it’s easy to taste! 2) Salt and other inorganic minerals are heavier then plant (organic) nutrients, and when mixed with water will settle to the bottom much faster then organic substance. Take a 12 ounce glass of room temperature water and add 1-gram phytoplankton, then stir well. If in 5 minutes you glass looks mostly clear, then heavy inorganic salt/mineral substance just brought it all down to the bottom of the glass. See are examples below!

Still, just five minutes after being stirred, the Green Growth Phyto 4 Life Marine Phytoplankton product has a lot of strange looking floating stuff at the top of the glass. We contribute this to the 20% foreign matter our lab found in their product. Obviously there’s more then one thing growing in their plankton tanks.

And after 1-hour from both products being stirred, nearly the complete 2 capsules (1-gram) of the Green Growth Phyto 4 Life band Marine Phytoplankton has sunk to the bottom of the glass which is a clear indicator of heavy inorganic salt/minerals are present.
